Casserole Recipe

Cassoulet met
Wintergroenten
1 zak spruitjes (500g) schoongemaakt en
! gestoomd (beetgaar)
2-4 El olie
1 bakje kipstukjes (150g), als gewenst
1 ui, gesnipperd
2 teentjes knoflook, geperst
1 rode peper of paprika, schoon en in reepjes
1 winterpeen, in plakjes
1/2 knolselderij, geschild /in blokjes van 2 cm
1 groente-bouillon tablet
2 blaadjes laurier
1 El italiaanse kruiden
1 blik witte bonen in tomatensaus (530g)
1/2 zak belegen geraspde kaas (a 175g)
3-4 grote aardappelen in stukjes (voor puree)
ovenschaal van circa 20X30cm
1. Kok aardappelen tot gaar, afgieten,
stampen, en voeg wat melk of bouillon toe
en roer tot kruimig
2. Verwarm de oven voor tot 180 C.
3. Verhit de olie in een ruime braadpan en
bak hierin de kipstukjes (als gewenst),
rondom 3 min. Doe de ui, knoflook, peper
of paprika, wortel, en knolselderij erbij en
bak alles nog 3 min. op hoog vuur
4. Los het groentebouillontablet op in 2 dl
heet water en doe dit samen met de laurier
en italiaanse kruiden bij de groenten.
Breng het gerecht tegen de kook aan en
laat het nog 5 min. zachtjes koken met een
deksel op de pan.
5. Haal de pan van het vuur en roer de witte
bonen en spruiten erdoor
6. Schep het gerecht in een ovenschaal,
breng het aardappel puree vooledig
eroverheen en bestrooi met de geraspte
kaas. Stoof de cassoulet 25 min. in de
oven tot de kaas mooi goudbruin is.

Zonder kip: 7 euros (1.75 p.p.)

Winter Vegetable
Casserole
1 pkg. brussels sprouts (500g), cleaned and
! steamed til just done
2-4 Tbsp olive oil
1 pkg. boneless skinless chicken (150g),
 ! (optional)
1 onion, chopped
2 garlic cloves, minced
1 red pepper, cleaned and sliced
1 large carrot, sliced
1/2 celery root, peeled and in 1” cubes
1 veg. bouillon cube
2 bay leaves
1 Tbsp italian herbs
1 jar pinto beans in tomato sauce (530g)
1 cup grated gouda or cheddar cheese
3-4 large potatoes, cubed (for boiling &
! mashing)
9”-12” baking pan
1.Boil potatoes until done. Drain, mash,
and if desired stir in a bit of milk or
bouillon until creamy
2. Heat oven to 180 C.
3.In a large frypan or wok, heat the oil en
sautee the chicken pieces (if desired),
about 3 minutes. Add the onion, garlic,
red pepper, carrot, and celery root and
stir-fry on a high heat about 3 minutes.
4. Dissolve the bouillon tablet in 2 cups hot
water and add to the vegetables, with the
bay leaves and italian herbs. Return
mixture to heat and let simmer (covered) 5
minutes.
5. Remove from heat and add the beans and
sprouts. Stir to combine.
6. Scoop the mixture into the baking dish,
cover completely with the mashed
potatoes, and sprinkle with cheese. Bake
for 25 minutes until cheese becomes
golden brown.

About 10 euros (2.50 p.p.)
Without chicken: 7 euros (1.75 p.p.)

Visiting Teaching March 2013

Dear sisters,

I hope you are all doing well. 

Have you noticed all the beautiful trees full of Spring flowers? My garden is beginning to come alive again.

I would like to know about your visits of the month February. I apologize for being late. 

Also I would like to remmebr you that at the end of March 'll be reporting our numbers from the first three months of 2014. 

Please do not forget to inform me about your visits in March.

Sunday, March 23  Potluck

Sunday, March 30th  5th Sunday no relief society. Will be a combined Priesthood and Relief Society Meeting.

March 29   Ward Temple Trip, Graca Bastos will be going through for the first time, please come and support her in this wonderful phase in her life. the session will be at 12pm.

Wednesday April 2nd:  Women's Broadcast @Heerlen WArd@6:30pm. light dinner followed by the conference at 7:15pm. All girls and women ages 8+ are invited. This will replace the faith in God Activity and YW activity for the evening

Saturday April 4th:  Pancake Competition organized by the Ward Mission and missionaries. For those who want to participate in the contest please bring any kind of pancake there will be many awards. This event will begin at 4pm. Dont forget that General conference will begin at 6pm.

Saturday/Sunday April 4/5:  General Conference. Please check the LDS Website for times. No sunday services will be held at the building

Relief Society Activity: General Women's Conference

We will be viewing the General Women's Conference for all women 18yrs+ for our next relief society activity. It will be followed by a light dinner. It will be held Tuesday, October 8, 2013 at 19h at the Heerlen Ward building, this is a great opportunity to bring friends. 

If you are not able to come that evening, the General Women's Conference will be available for viewing on the internet, Saturday Sept 28th, due to the fact it is broadcast ( MDT) Salt Lake City, Utah, 6:00pm, it will be available on international standard time Sunday Sept 29 at  00:00, it will also be rebroadcast at 02:00 on Sunday, Sept 29 and at 15h on Sunday Sept 29. You can view it on LDS.org, mormonchannel.org, byubroadcasting.org, or KSL.com.

Please take the opportunity to watch it or come to our activity night, this is something that you shouldn't miss.

Relief Society Activity

This is just a friendly reminder for our R.S Visiting Teaching Conference which will be held Tuesday September 10@19h at the Heerlen Ward Building. Please remind your visiting teachers and those you teach. Remember we are going to start with the program at 19h which will last about 40-45 minutes and then a light dinner will be served afterwards. Please try and be on time.
